Meet Michael
Ever since I was little, I wanted to contribute to the design and construction of infrastructure around me. I always loved history and art, so I thought architecture would be a good fit for me…until I was told I had to draw. From there, engineering became my career path of choice. As a young student I was not entirely sure what engineers did but as I dove into my studies I loved the components of Civil Engineering more.
I chose to pursue my Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering at the University of South Carolina in Columbia. Here, I learned about hydrology design, Geotechnical foundation design, railroad engineering, and structural design. While completing my degree I worked in the industry in order to pair my classroom education with education obtained from the work experience I was receiving.
I am a student in life and am always looking for opportunities to further my learning. Engineering allows me to combine my love for architecture, design, and learning in a way that excites me for the future.
